A hit and run terrorist attack leaving 4 Muslims dead and 1 in hospital. The whole globe is affected by this tragic event.
It was a violent day for London, Ontario on Monday, June 7, 2021. There was a family of 5 that were out for a walk. They weren't doing anything wrong when they got hit by a truck. Four family members ranging from 15 years old to 74 years old were all killed by the truck. Out of the family of 5, only the 9 year-old boy survived. The 9-year-old boy is being hospitalized with serious, but non life-threatening injuries. The police say this act of violence was intentional and was planned. It is believed that they were targeted because they were Muslim. I know I can't stay quiet about the terrorist attack that happened. I also know that this isn't right nor okay. People cannot stay quiet about this. That's why I'm speaking out about this hate crime. This kind of thing is never okay and we should not be staying quiet about it. If we use our voices to overpower the hate, we cannot and will not be silenced! Attacks like this worry a lot of people. Take me for example, now I'm so worried because of this terrorist attack. All I can think about is that it could've been me. Now I'm so worried that I could be targeted in a hate crime whether it may be just bullying or an act of violence. Luckily I live in Nova Scotia where the crime rate is low. This means that it's unlikely for something like this to happen to me, but it can still happen. Don't stay quiet about this kind of thing and remember, when we speak out about this, our voices will not be silenced!
